Senior Systems Engineer Tier III
UICGS / Bowhead Family of Companies is seeking Senior Systems Engineers to support a customer in Stafford, VA. The role involves providing advanced technical support, troubleshooting complex system issues, and managing virtualized environments while ensuring compliance with security policies and regulations.

Responsibilities
Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex system issues both on prem and in the cloud
Resolve escalated technical problems that Tier I and Tier II support teams are unable to solve
Administer, configure, and maintain complex systems, including servers, networks, and databases
Perform in-depth diagnostics and analysis to identify root causes of issues across systems and applications
Manage and maintain virtualized environments, including VMware or Hyper-V platforms
Implement and manage security measures to comply with DoD/IC policies and regulations
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware for critical infrastructure
Develop and implement automation tools to streamline system administration tasks
Perform regular system performance tuning and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance
Oversee and support system backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures
Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and maintenance to minimize downtime and risk
Collaborate with network engineers, developers, and other teams to troubleshoot and resolve cross-functional issues
Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
Mentor and provide guidance to Tier I and Tier II staff on complex technical issues
Implement and manage system monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve issues
Assist with evaluating and recommending new technologies, tools, and processes to improve system reliability and efficiency
Ensure compliance with industry standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements for all systems
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field
Eight (8+) years of management experience (site lead only)
Seven (7+) years systems engineering experience
Four (4+) years of experience supporting and sustaining DoD cyberspace programs
Cloud certified
DoD 8570 / 8140 compliance or information assurance certification commensurate with technical objectives and services required
Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level with Counter Intelligence Polygraph
US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location
Preferred
10+ years of experience supporting cyberspace capability development
5+ years of experience with Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) adversary detection, intrusion forensics, and network recovery hardware / software
Subject matter expert with DoD cyber protection team tools, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)
Active CISSP
Master's degree in information systems management or related field
