National Sales Manager
Retail Options is a Manufacturer’s Representative Group focused on Major Retail Accounts, and they are seeking a National Sales Manager. The role involves leading and executing sales strategies to drive revenue growth while managing relationships with major retailers and vendor partners.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute national sales strategies to grow revenue across assigned categories and vendor lines
Identify new business opportunities and expand distribution within major retail accounts
Create annual sales plans, forecasts, and performance targets for each vendor partner
Serve as primary liaison between vendor partners and major national retailers (e.g., Walmart, Target, Costco, Amazon, specialty chains)
Lead line reviews, assortment planning, promotional negotiations, and business updates with retail buyers
Manage pricing, product launches, replenishment strategies, and retail program execution
Represent multiple vendor brands, ensuring accurate communication, reporting, and strategic alignment
Provide ongoing market feedback, competitive analysis, and retail performance insights to vendor partners
Coordinate product training, merchandising support, and brand representation with retailers
Lead, mentor, and motivate regional sales reps and account managers to achieve quarterly and annual sales goals
Align cross-functional teams—marketing, operations, supply chain, planning—to support retail initiatives
Foster a collaborative culture focused on accountability, performance, and client success
Analyze sales trends, SKU performance, POS data, and inventory health to identify risks and opportunities
Prepare strategic presentations, QBR decks, and performance reports for vendors and retail partners
Utilize retail systems, EDI data, and internal tools to optimize business results
Represent vendor lines at industry trade shows, buying conferences, and retailer events
Maintain awareness of market trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscape
Qualification
Required
7+ years of experience in sales, retail account management, or manufacturer's representation
Strong relationships or demonstrated success working with major retailers
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Ability to manage complex accounts and balance the needs of multiple vendor lines
Proficiency with retail analytics, POS tools, and sales forecasting
Preferred
Experience managing national accounts such as Walmart, Costco, Target, Home Depot, Lowe's, Amazon, or similar
Background in the relevant product category (consumer goods, apparel, home improvement, electronics, etc.)
Previous leadership of multi-region or national sales teams
