Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and develop the Quality Lab Technicians
Oversee quality systems and procedures across all backing-related operations
Ensure compliance with Shaw Management System and corporate quality standards
Represent the plant in customer audits and internal reviews
Provide strategic input on product development and process changes impacting quality
Assists in the management of the product quality assurance from raw materials to finished product via testing, sampling, and auditing programs
Lead quality improvement initiatives to reduce variation, improve performance, and enhance customer satisfaction
Analyze plant quality data and provide graphs, charts, spreadsheets, or other forms of visual data that represent the data in a presentable fashion
Using various methodologies (Six Sigma, Trend Analysis, Statistical software, etc.), closely monitors to strive for consistent improvements in product quality throughout the plant’s manufacturing process
Assists in other areas to improve plant quality performance
Provide support for determining the disposition of produced material through assessment against specifications and standards defined by the control plan. Provide support to production departments regarding continuous quality improvement
Qualification
Required
Associate of Science Degree or 4 years of Quality/Textile Manufacturing experience
Experience in carpet manufacturing and ability to identify carpet defects
Preferred
Experience in carpet manufacturing or carpet backing manufacturing preferred
