Responsibilities

Responsible for leading the import compliance team and working with internal stakeholders in new SKU CSS sheet review/assessment, HTS code classification, Country of origin (COO), valuation, anti-dumping duties (ADD), FTAs, Lacey Act, Fish & Wildlife, Food & Drug Administration
Responsible for Customs broker performance review/improvement, pricing structure assessment, and negotiation
Continuously work with internal sourcing/planning/finance / legal team to review & renew US Customs Bond to ensure compliance and coverage
Manage, review, and audit daily entries to ensure entry accuracy, review CBP/broker statements & accrue duties/taxes/entry fees to applicable systems
Work with the freight forwarder and the Customs broker and manage the duty reduction program and report quarterly / annual savings
Perform post-entry audits for accuracy of HTS, value, quantity, COO, ADD, FTA, record-keeping documentation; recommend any brokerage/internal process improvements
Work with the store/online sales team and the DC team to support international order sales and export
Communicate with internal/external partners/vendors, Customs’ broker, freight forwarders, and other parties to ensure timely and effective problem resolution and go-forward action plans
Provides strategic advice and guidance to senior management and business segments on changes to Customs/import compliance regulations and policy

Required

Must be a CBP Licensed Broker with at least 3 years of import compliance experience
Strong understanding of Ocean / Air carrier import and export routing operation
Strong understanding of Customs Border Protection (CBP) and Partner Government Agencies (PGA) regulations
Strong PC skills, including MS Office Outlook, Excel, Word
Must have strong organizational skills and be able to balance various tasks/projects
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills; fluent or proficient in English
Must have strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize, analytical and problem-solving skills
Must have a high level of ethics, integrity, judgment, and confidentiality
