The role involves working closely with internal teams and occasionally with outside customers to ensure proper handling of data center equipment.

Responsibilities
Identifying abandoned hardware in the DC and coordinating their DCOM
Get a list of potential abandoned equipment
Identifying it in the DC then identifying the owner
Contact the owner to establish if it’s needed or can be scheduled for DECOM
Dealing with internal people, but some outside customers may come into play
See if it’s abandoned
Look at the equipment around them to determine if it’s active or not-add it to the list if it is then discover it’s owner
Be inquisitive with solid communication and documentation
Qualification
Required
Datacenter experience is required
Candidates need to be someone that's an equipment detective, see if it's abandoned, look at the equipment around them to determine if it's active or not-add it to the list if it is then discover it's owner
