Responsibilities
Perform interconnection studies on offshore wind, energy storage, public policy transmission and other new clean energy technology projects
Conduct substation power-flow and short circuit analyses
Contribute to analyses identifying local and system upgrades to maintain reliable electric system operations
Participate in internal engineering support activities; interface with NYISO and merchant developers
Identify new generation/transmission project impacts on bulk electric system; Develop recommended modifications to NYISO
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 3 years of engineering work experience in the planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system
Knowledge of the design and /or operation of the electric power system
Competent in using PSS/E, TARA, Aspen or equivalent power system simulation programs
Demonstrated analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Effective interpersonal skills
Develops and delivers effective presentations
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc
Driver's License Required
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering and 3 years of engineering work experience in the planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system
