Gessner Engineering, LLC. is seeking a Structural Intern for Summer 2026 to assist the Structural Department with various projects. The role involves collaborating with team members, assisting with design, and conducting site visits under the supervision of experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

Work in a team setting with other team members as well as other design disciplines like civil, geotechnical, and external sub consultants when necessary

Assist with design for a variety of projects including residential, commercial, and higher education

Visit project sites to assist with the collection of forensics and as-built data and conduct construction administration observation duties

Manage time and workload effectively

Work under the supervision and mentoring of structural engineers and designers

Required

Must be actively enrolled as a junior, senior or graduate student working towards a Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with Structural focus

Must possess at least a 3.5 GPA

Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals and groups

Summer interns are required to maintain consistent ability to work 35+ hours per week
