Responsibilities
Review supplier technical packages for verbatim compliance, document deviations and attain corrections as needed without regular supervision. Packages include material test results, heat treat documentation and plating certifications
Interpret military and commercial material, processing, testing and quality specification requirements
Interpret customer product drawings and technical document requirements
Interpret in-house technical and quality documents and procedures, operational sketches, routings and purchase orders
Generate certification review checklists
Generate work orders for internal and external laboratory testing
Work with Materials, Quality, Product & other Engineering groups, Purchasing, Receiving Inspection and suppliers as needed to resolve technical deviations. Qualified candidates may be able to provide technical support more independently
Continuous effective communication with Buyers, Planning, Receiving Inspection, NDE and vendors. Vendors include heat treaters, mills, foundries, forgers, platers and machine shops
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or its equivalent is required
Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in quality control is required, though all candidates will be considered
Previous experience with, or a demonstrated ability to perform compliance review
Strong verbal skills and clear, concise compositional skills
Preferred
Advanced degree in an engineering or quality-related field preferred
Familiarity with material testing, material processing, quality systems, corrective action management and continuous improvement is desired
