The role involves supporting various aspects of the data center ecosystem, ensuring the resiliency and high availability of critical infrastructure, while collaborating with stakeholders and performing various maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

Support installation, migration, maintenance, and upgrades of data center infrastructure (IT hardware, cabling, power, racks)

Diagnose, repair, replace hardware and escort vendors/visitors (DCaaS) during remediation and maintenance

Perform decommissioning of legacy hardware and complete reconciliation

Install and maintain support infrastructure (cable trays, PDUs, shelves)

Execute copper and fiber termination (Quick Connect)

Maintain DCIM documentation, including new installs, changes, removals, and process documentation

Ensure proper labeling of hardware and cables; support HVAC and related systems

Respond to normal and high-severity incidents

Coordinate with Facilities for inspections and service maintenance

Perform complex troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and solution implementation

Required

Install, migrate, maintain, upgrade, and decommission data center infrastructure (IT hardware, racks, cables, PDUs, shelves, trays)

Diagnose, repair, replace hardware issues and escort vendors/visitors (DCaaS) during maintenance activities

Perform copper and fiber termination (Quick Connect), labeling, and cable management

Maintain support infrastructure including HVAC, generators, fire suppression, conduits, UPS, PDUs, chillers

Document all installations, removals, and changes in DCIM, including reconciliation of legacy hardware

Respond to normal and high-severity incidents; perform complex troubleshooting and root-cause analysis

Coordinate with Facilities for inspections and scheduled maintenance

Follow written procedures and maintain security, confidentiality, and NERC compliance

Work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Project, Visio, Outlook

High School Diploma/GED with entry-level data center experience

Preferred

Associates or higher in an IT related field

Certifications: CompTIA Server+, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Equipment Brand Certifications (e.g., Dell, HP, IBM, etc.)

Basic facilities knowledge: HVAC systems, Power Distribution Units, UPS Systems, etc
