LHH is seeking a Risk Analyst to join their dynamic trading team in the oil and gas sector. The role involves generating and validating P&L reports, analyzing market impacts, and collaborating with various teams to enhance reporting processes.

Human Resources

Responsibilities

Generate and validate daily P&L and exposure reports across commodities (crude oil, gasoline, distillates, fuel oil, renewables, NGLs)

Analyze and explain daily P&L movements, identifying key risk drivers and market impacts

Validate trades, deals, market curves, and pricing inputs for accuracy

Collaborate with trading, scheduling, accounting, and risk teams to resolve issues and ensure timely reporting

Lead initiatives to standardize and automate reporting processes; enhance risk systems and dashboards

Support compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements

Provide backup coverage across regions/products and mentor junior analysts

Align mark-to-market P&L with GAAP standards for external financial reporting

Required

Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, vLookup, hLookup)

Experience with ETRM systems (RightAngle, Allegro, Endur, OpenLink, SAP)

Strong analytical and numerical skills

Familiarity with Power BI; Python or SQL is a plus

Knowledge of commodity markets, trade lifecycle, and risk methodologies

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced trading floor environment
