Responsibilities
Supervise and direct overhead distribution line crews in the field
Plan, assign, and manage daily work scopes and schedules
Conduct job briefings and safety tailboards prior to task execution
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety policies
Coordinate labor, equipment, and materials to support efficient operations
Oversee both energized and de-energized line work
Maintain high standards for productivity, workmanship, and safety
Train, coach, and mentor apprentices and journeymen
Qualification
Required
Ability to provide personal hand tools and standard work gear (protective rubber equipment issued by the employer)
Capability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold
Physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform sustained manual labor
Willingness to travel for short-term assignments as needed
Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices related to high-voltage electrical systems
Experience performing inspections, installations, modifications, troubleshooting, and general maintenance of electrical infrastructure
Proficiency in tasks such as excavation, pole guying, conductor handling, rigging, splicing, and structure erection
Participation in federally regulated DOT/FMCSA drug and alcohol testing programs, including pre-employment and random testing
Preferred
Previous foreman or crew lead experience preferred
Strong working knowledge of overhead distribution construction and maintenance
Approximately 3–5 years of experience as a journeyman lineman or in a supervisory field role
