Responsibilities
Own, update, and maintain loss and ALAE reserve analyses for Programs GL and Umbrella, Guaranteed Cost Construction GL and Umbrella, Construction Excess Risk, Contractor's Protective Professional Indemnity, and Construction Pollution Liability books of business
Develop new analytical tools and enhance current tools to improve the accuracy and efficiency of reserve reviews to deliver improved insights to business partners
Look for opportunities to innovate and enhance Construction and Programs analyses
Conduct sophisticated actuarial analyses and effectively communicate findings and recommendations to business partners
Provide insight and commentary for drivers of the monthly Actual vs. Expected reporting
Participate on various reserving cross-department projects as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree required
Actuarial exam path to become a credentialed actuary with at least 1 passed exam required
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively resolve complex issues
Strong Excel skills required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail with strong time and project management skills
Driven, intellectually curious, passionate, resourceful and creative
Proactive individual, who challenges existing processes, can influence others and drive a process to a conclusion while meeting critical deadlines
Preferred
Knowledge of SQL, VBA, R, Python or similar coding languages
