Position and Workforce Management Analyst

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a Position and Workforce Management Analyst to support position allotments and funding processes. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with Board of Education policies and managing data related to staffing and funding.

Responsibilities

Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
Develop and maintain databases; analyze data to ensure budgets codes are assigned correctly
Monitor and adjust funding sources as needed
Monitor hired staff versus available allotments; collaborate with human resources as needed
Reclassify salary expenses to maximize available funding
Validate funding source and compliance of one-time payments for employees that are not processed through payroll
Review and approve extended employment programs
Assist with researching and resolving licensure salary audit exceptions for certified staff
Assist with processing position exchanges requests ensuring compliance with guidelines
Collaborate to ensure accuracy of data and address discrepancies
Participate in the annual year-end closeout process
Prepare presentations, reports, and other correspondence
Complete local, state, or federal surveys and reports accurately and promptly
Participate in professional development workshops and attend other meetings as required
Perform related work as assigned or required

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate degree with two (2) years of related experience or bachelor's degree preferred
Equivalent combination of experience and education
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license or ability to provide own transportation
Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
Knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures of public school system financial policies
Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to school system finances
Knowledge of county and school board policies, procedures, and standards regarding funding, accounting, and auditing principles
Ability to maintain professional and emotional control under stress
Ability to reflect appropriate response to situations, while maintaining a professional and personal demeanor
Ability to learn and use specialized tools, equipment or software related to business needs
Ability to implement local, state, and federal rules, guidelines, and procedures into daily business operations
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to reason, make judgments, and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to employ positive communication skills in all settings/mediums
Ability to problem-solve utilizing sound judgment
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding school system business
