BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is seeking an Account Executive responsible for the successful marketing of group and individual accounts. The role involves developing marketing plans, maintaining professional relationships, conducting market research, and preparing marketing reports.

Responsibilities

Develops and executes marketing plans for new sales and/or retention of existing accounts within assigned territory. Prepares and presents proposals and communications to groups, agents, and/or individuals

Develops and maintains professional relationships with groups, agents, and/or individuals. Assesses agency, agent, group, and/or individual sales opportunities and works with groups, agent, and/or individuals to resolve problem issues

Conducts on-going market research and provides key information that may lead to sales. Prepares and submits required marketing reports to management detailing how best to position company products

Maintains product/industry knowledge and marketing skills by attending trading seminars, continuing education classes, conferences, etc

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent

1-year sales and marketing

Ability to develop/maintain effective relationships with groups, agents, and potential customers

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

Effective organizational skills

Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others

Microsoft Office

Department of Insurance Licensure must be obtained within 60 days of hire in state employed

Preferred

3 years customer service, provider network

Knowledge of mathematical or statistical concepts

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, or other spreadsheet/database software
