Responsibilities
Provides high level knowledge and expertise in high voltage electrical discipline for construction
Provides expert technical consultation support to projects
Prepares construction drawings and sketches
Leads preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans
Initiates requisitions for field purchases
Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment
Oversees the verification of commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required
Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely
Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
Reviews and approves inspection test plans
Qualification
Required
Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience
Preferred
Experience with Bechtel direct hire craft preferred
Contract management experience
Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures is preferred
Experience in mining and metals preferable
Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) including InfoWorks, TEAMWorks, BPS, PTR, eSub and other automation tools which are used on Bechtel projects is an asset
Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards
Excellent communication and problem solving ability
