Field Reliability Engineer
iO Associates operates within the engineering sector, specializing in wellhead operations and pressure control systems. They are seeking a Field Reliability Engineer to bridge the gap between practical field operations and engineering solutions, ensuring efficiency and safety in wellhead operations while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Proactively identify potential challenges and collaborate closely with Operations to develop innovative solutions
Provide rapid-response engineering support by designing safe, time-sensitive modifications and creating necessary documentation to maintain operational continuity
Investigate field failures, assess root causes, and propose corrective actions
Assess non-conformances and supplier deviation requests, issuing clear dispositions for resolution
Conduct equipment qualification testing, delivering comprehensive engineering test reports
Develop and validate test methods to ensure quality by confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes are adhered to
Liaise with engineering teams to address design queries and product specifications
Draft departmental specifications and documents as required
Stay informed on updates to API 6A and API Q1 specifications, ensuring compliance with all certification standards
Recommend design improvements and innovative processes to enhance product reliability
Foster strong working relationships across various functions, including Supply Chain, Inside Sales, and Operations
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
At least 5 years of relevant experience in wellhead equipment, pressure control systems, or products governed by API 6A
Proficient in ANSI, ASME, and ISO drafting techniques, along with knowledge of API/ISO product requirements and basic stress analysis
Strong analytical, mathematical, and reasoning skills, accompanied by advanced computer literacy
Previous experience in Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous
Preferred
Familiarity with more advanced engineering software tools or project management applications
Knowledge of further certifications related to engineering or quality assurance would be beneficial
