Process Utilities Engineer I

CRB is a leading provider of sustainable engineering, architecture, construction and consulting solutions to the global life sciences and food and beverage industries. The Entry-Level Process Utilities Engineer will focus on the design of critical utility equipment and support documentation and field installation efforts to ensure a coordinated and complete design. This role will involve collaboration with various engineering and design teams to execute engineering calculations and produce deliverables.

Responsibilities

Supports the documentation of the design scope in coordination with other disciplines
Supports field installation teams and participates in construction site activities
Works closely with other architects, engineers and designers, as well as other internal and external team members to ensure a coordinated, constructible and complete design
Able to work on one or more projects concurrently and manage time effectively
Solves complex problems under the direction and supervision of a mentor or supervisor
Produce engineering deliverables including: Process Flow Diagrams, User Requirements Specifications, Equipment List, Equipment General Arrangements, Equipment Datasheets, Utility Summary, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

Required

ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical or bioprocess engineering
0 to 3 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting
Fundamentals of Engineering exam registration or completion
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

Fundamental experience with performing engineering calculations for fluid mechanics and heat transfer, developing and implementing systems designs
Fundamental experience with chemistry
Fundamental experience with process modeling, material and energy balances and basic sizing calculations
Proficiency in 2D / 3D design platforms (AutoCAD, Revit, Solidworks, etc.)
