Mid LevelAdvanced Tech Placement is seeking an engineer to own and operate the Ansible Automation Platform as a shared enterprise automation service. This role involves supporting a large-scale environment migrating to AWS and leveraging Kubernetes/OpenShift, focusing on platform engineering rather than just playbook automation.

Responsibilities
Own the design, deployment, and operation of Ansible Automation Platform (HA, upgrades, reliability, security)
Run AAP as a multi-tenant platform: RBAC, orgs, inventories, credentials, execution environments
Deploy and operate AAP on VMs and/or OpenShift/Kubernetes
Integrate AAP with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, identity providers, and source control
Enable automation for day-2 operations: patching, remediation, configuration, compliance, and recovery
Partner with platform, cloud, and DevOps teams during AWS migration and hybrid operations
Establish standards, governance, and best practices for enterprise automation
Qualification
Required
Hands-on experience installing, operating, or upgrading Ansible Automation Platform (Tower/AWX/AAP)
Experience running platforms in high-availability environments
Strong Linux systems background
Experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift
Familiarity with AWS and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred)
Comfort operating automation as a service used by many teams
Preferred
AAP deployed on OpenShift
Event-driven automation (EDA)
Red Hat certifications
Experience in regulated or large enterprise environments
