Responsibilities
Business Process Analysis: Analyze FP&A projection processes, including forecasting, variance analysis, and scenario modeling, to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and reconciliation improvements
Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with FP&A teams and developers to define and document system requirements, ensuring alignment with financial reporting and planning objectives
Testing & Validation: Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate system functionality against business needs, particularly around financial data accuracy
Data Integrity & Controls: Partner with finance teams to ensure the integrity, consistency, and quality of financial data across planning and reporting systems
Continuous Improvement: Apply critical thinking to evaluate current FP&A workflows, challenge assumptions, and propose alternative solutions to improve forecasting accuracy and operational efficiency
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between finance (FP&A) and technology teams, facilitating effective communication, managing priorities, and ensuring successful delivery of project objectives
Reporting & Insights: Support the design and delivery of financial dashboards, KPIs, and reports to enhance decision-making across leadership teams
Qualification
Required
Minimum 10+ years of experience required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
5–10+ years of experience in FP&A or financial systems roles within Life & Annuity insurance, or financial services industries
Experience with financial planning platforms (e.g., Hyperion, Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, or similar tools)
Strong ability to analyze financial processes, identify issues, and recommend improvements
Excellent ability to communicate with both finance professionals and IT developers
Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; ability to translate technical and financial concepts for diverse stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to independently identify process inefficiencies and recommend creative, practical solutions
Preferred
Prior exposure to Life & Annuity insurance or related financial services firms
Advanced degree (MBA, MS in Finance, or related field)
