Responsibilities

Coordinate, prepare and submit oil and gas regulatory applications, reports, and notices of work with the TRRC, GLO, TXDOT, and local municipalities, among other regulatory bodies
Initiate, manage and permit special projects with minimal direction or supervision
Interpret regulatory rules, changes and updates to ensure that they are communicated to and implemented by relevant operational teams; recommend updates to internal procedures in response to any such changes or updates
Advise operational teams on compliance issues
Interact with regulatory agencies, often daily, to obtain appropriate approvals; monitor statuses and provide necessary corrections and/or supplemental information to ensure compliance and approval of all associated project components
Control DOT regulations and compliance
Manage consultants for field-wide surface compliance and survey requirements, including, but not limited to, archaeological, biological, and all NEPA requirements
Assist with training, mentoring and oversight of other regulatory employees

Required

Bachelor's degree or higher in Science, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Sciences or related discipline or foreign equivalent a plus
7+ years of experience in a regulatory role
Upstream oil and gas experience required
Experience with permitting and reporting for oil/gas wells, facilities, and gathering lines to the TRRC required
Experience with horizontal, stacked lateral, and allocation well permitting and reporting required
Comprehensive knowledge of current state, federal, and local laws, rules and regulations governing upstream oil and gas operations
Deep understanding of upstream oil and gas operations and the regulatory process across the full life cycle of oil and gas development, including the drilling of water wells and saltwater disposal wells and the management of pits and facilities
Proven ability to interpret, communicate, and implement requirements of regulations
Strong collaborative approach to working with asset teams to determine project priorities, secure permits timely, and ensure post-spud compliance with all relevant regulations
Exceptional communication skills
Ability to build strong working relationships with engineering, geology, reservoir, HSE, field, and other internal stakeholders to progress company objectives
Consistently high levels of accuracy, attention to detail, and timeliness in a fast-paced working environment, while completing diverse tasks of differing priorities with minimal supervision
Strong computer, research and database skills

Preferred

Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience in Austin Chalk, Eagle Ford, or Haynesville Shales in Texas preferred
