Responsibilities
Own the architecture, development, testing, release, and deployment of all vehicle software
Lead, hire, and mentor multiple teams of senior software engineers and engineering managers
Own simulation and test infrastructure, including hardware-in-the-loop environments
Partner closely with avionics, controls, systems, and ground teams to deliver tightly integrated end-to-end solutions
Build scalable software platforms and processes to support multiple vehicles in parallel across design, test, and launch
Manage 5 distributed teams and circa 50 heads across vehicle software
Qualification
Required
10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles
3+ years as a manager of managers leading multiple distributed teams
Experience of flight and safety critical software
Experience working on a rocket or spacecraft
A fast moving new space mindset, someone who talks about making improvements in days rather than weeks and months
Experience beyond the large primes in smaller SMEs or start-ups
