Responsibilities
Assist in the development of architectures, product design requirements and other required documentation based on marketing requirements
Simulate/predict signal integrity and circuit functionality using state of the art simulation tools
Enable state-of-the-art electrical designs/approaches while meeting schedule expectations
Fluent in the use of Cadence toolsets
Provide expert guidance to teams and individual engineers
Articulate the goals and intent for work products
Proactively influence the organization toward successful product launches
Provide expert input into tasks and schedule baselines
Drive team to meet schedules
Validate delivered work products meet the needs of the project stakeholders
Drive problem solving activities on projects
Drive organizational change on systemic problems
Drive use of structured problem-solving technics within the team
Proactively assist customers to successfully resolve issues seen in their environments
Partner with Operations to optimize costs/yields on released and pre-release products
Participate in new product concepts and strategies and implementation methods
Interface directly with customer development teams and contribute to product architecture
Qualification
Required
BSEE or equivalent engineering degree
15+ years experience in system level product development
Server and/or Storage systems experience highly desired
Experience with High Speed signal design and simulation (SAS4, SATA, NVMe, PCIeGx, DDR, etc)
Hands on experience utilizing standard lab equipment, oscilloscopes, meters, TDR, power equipment, etc
Strong experience in bring up/debug boards and system level designs (EVT, DVT, PVT)
Experience with programmable logic (FPGA, CPLD, etc.)
Familiar with simulation programs such as PSPICE, ModelSim, Ansys, etc
Ability to collect, analyze and report on datasets collected as part of test plans, customer requests and problem-solving activities
Strong written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of MS Office products for documentation and presenting material
Knowledge of cost basis for electronic components
Experience working with inhouse and external high volume manufacturing partners located in and outside the US
Must enjoy working in a fast-paced active environment as a team player
