Responsibilities
Answer telephones and interact with the public as the receptionist, make photocopies, distribute mail, and file a variety of materials according to established department procedures. You will also archive materials and physically move boxes to the appropriate areas
Use computer programs for word processing, data entry, spreadsheet assignments, correspondence, reports, and forms
Perform data entry and cashiering. You may perform recordkeeping or some more advanced bookkeeping functions depending on skills and operational needs
Deal tactfully and courteously with the public, colleagues, and other City employees, occasionally in difficult customer service situations
Qualification
Required
Have a High School Diploma, or equivalent
Have experience as a receptionist or administrative assistant
Preferred
Have Microsoft Office experience in a Windows environment
Have knowledge of alpha/numeric filing systems
Benefits
WA Paid Sick Leave (WPSL) is issued at 0.025 hours for each hour worked (equaling one (1) hour for every 40 hours worked), as required by law.
Employees in this classification may be eligible for WA State Paid Family Medical Leave dependent upon their qualifications and work history in WA State.
Employees in this classification may also be eligible for PERS contributions, dependent upon their hours of work each month and their length of service.
