NEOGOV is seeking a Summer Camp Assistant Director to assist with the planning, organizing, and execution of the summer day camp program for children ages 5 to 12. The role involves supervising camp counselors and campers, maintaining records, and ensuring a positive experience for each camper.

Responsibilities

Arriving at camp on time each day ready and prepared to perform all camp staff functions and responsibilities
Assist Summer Day Camp Director with:
Supervising camp counselors
Supervising campers
Monitoring supplies and equipment
Maintaining accurate and detailed records pertaining to participants and staff
Opening and closing duties as scheduled
Planning, leading, implementing, and preparing supplies for camp activities
Checking campers in and dismissing them to their approved pick-up person
Addressing issues as they arise
Being a positive role model to the children
Providing an enjoyable experience for each camper
Checking group attendance each morning and frequently throughout the day
Contacting parents of campers as needed during camp to maintain good public relations
Other duties as assigned

Qualification

Supervising childrenCPR certificationLeadership experienceFirst Aid certificationPublic relationsEffective communication

Required

Must be at least 21 years of age
Have experience in a leadership capacity
Have experience supervising or working with children
Ability to establish an effective working relationship with parents, employees, and the general public
Valid driver's license in the State of North Carolina

Preferred

Certification in CPR and First Aid
Possession of a commercial driver's license with P or S endorsement
