Supervisor - Community Engagement
NEOGOV is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as the Supervisor of Community Engagement at the Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller’s Office. This role focuses on building relationships and strengthening public trust through outreach initiatives that connect the Clerk’s Office with diverse communities across Palm Beach County.

Responsibilities
Supervising, training and mentoring members of the Community Engagement team and participating in the development and implementation of programs and events for the community and Clerk employees
Building and maintaining proactive professional relationships with designated stakeholder groups, including community organizations and nonprofit groups throughout Palm Beach County
Tracks program performance, participation, and impact; prepares reports and recommendations
Coordinates and leads public workshops, informational sessions and outreach events
Assisting the Chief Communications Officer and participating in the strategic planning of community events and Clerk employee events; conferring with executive management to advise and coordinate outreach tactics and strategies related to Clerk’s office programs and services
Assisting the Chief Communications Officer with development and implementation of a comprehensive annual community outreach and events plan for both community and employee events and programs, to achieve objectives and measurable outcomes
Managing the Clerks for a Cause charitable giving program, including planning and implementation of employee and community events to support the program
Leading the creation, planning and implementation of special community events on behalf of the Clerk’s office
Working collaboratively with the Communications team to promote Community Engagement programs, events, outreach and services
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the general public, coworkers and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability or political affiliation
Ability to initiate administrative programs and procedures, as well as evaluate their effectiveness
Ability to understand sensitive community issues and respond accordingly
Ability to respond to ideas in a respectful and courteous manner and listen to the community’s ideas and respond accordingly
Research and respond to a wide range of community inquiries
Performs duties in an office environment, with frequent travel to community locations as required to fulfill job responsibilities
Ability to work flexible hours for community events as needed
Manages staff and participates in the research, development, and implementation of applicable programs, activities, and publications
Performs personnel management duties, i.e., supervising, training, hiring, disciplinary action, counseling, performance evaluations, recommending transfer, promotion, separation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Public Administration Communications, Political Science, or related field required
Four (4) years of recent and relevant experience with intergovernmental communication, legislative processes, community or issue campaign organization; and public affairs or marketing
Direct work experience with demonstrated knowledge of effective leadership and supervisory principles and practices
Performing personnel management duties (i.e., supervising, training, hiring, disciplinary action, counseling, performance evaluations, recommending transfer, promotion, separation)
Ability to work flexible hours for community events as needed
Frequent travel to community locations as required to fulfill job responsibilities
