Responsibilities

Management of Capitol Improvement Projects (CIP) replacement and rehabilitation projects at five water treatment plants and will require active participation in managing the construction of projects
Development of project scope and cost estimates
Procurement and administration of construction contracts
Technical review of design plans and specifications
Coordination of design and construction activities with customers Water Production, and other City Departments
Integration of final construction documents into the Work and Asset Management systems

Qualification

Required

Four years of experience in the practice of civil engineering or architecture
One year of experience supervising professional and technical staff
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related engineering degree
Must be registered in the State of Arizona as a Professional Engineer with proficiency in civil engineering by the end of the probationary period
All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position
Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record

Preferred

Three years of experience in water/wastewater engineering design, plan review, inspection, construction or project management
Civil Engineering design experience related to construction on municipal facilities
Two years of project management experience in complex capital improvement projects
Two years of managing consultants and contractor staff for CIP projects
Current Arizona Professional Engineer registration
