Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Analyst

Responsibilities
Develop complex data models as the back-end engine for front-end visualizations
Collaborating with a diverse data analytics reporting team to contribute to the design and implementation of analytics reporting capabilities at the Laboratory
Data reports will primarily be designed and delivered using PowerBI and other Microsoft based technologies. A broad experience in data visualization and reporting technologies is preferred
Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Skills include data analysis techniques (e.g., A/B testing, association rule learning, cluster analysis, pattern recognition and predictive modeling), data analysis and visualization software (e.g., Domo, Looker, PowerBI, Qlik, Tableau, SiSense), object-oriented programming languages (Java, Python, R, Ruby, Scala, C++) and/or data engineering skills (relational or NoSQL databases, ETL tools)
Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming
Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
Ability to understand data structures
Ability to work with data science platforms and software (e.g., Jupyter Notebook, Databricks, R, Python, Matlab, SAS, etc.)
Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events)

Level 1-Bachelor of Science degree in Data Science or closely related field
Experience in data science, data analysis, and data analytics tools such as Python, R, SQL
Level 2-Bachelor of Science degree in Data Science or closely related field and 2 years of experience or Masters of Science degree
Experience in data science, data analysis, and data analytics tools such as Python, R, SQL
Preferred
A broad experience in data visualization and reporting technologies
Experience in data science, data analysis, and data analytics tools such as Python, R, SQL
