Responsibilities
Designing and implementing ML systems using modern architectures
Training and evaluating models, running experiments, and iterating quickly
Deploying scalable ML services in a cloud environment (AWS)
Working with unstructured and imperfect data: scraping, cleaning, and transforming it
Building agentic and retrieval-augmented AI systems
Partnering with product and engineering to integrate ML cleanly into a modern frontend
Qualification
Required
Experience with embeddings, recommender systems, and/or foundation models
Strong intuition for choosing the right level of model complexity
Proven experience shipping ML systems into real-world use
Strong Python skills and comfort with infrastructure fundamentals
A bias toward reliability, performance, and maintainability
Hands-on experience with PyTorch and transformer-based models
Experience deploying ML workloads on AWS
Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, MCP, A2A) and RAG systems
Comfortable working with messy, real-world data
Understands how ML fits into a modern, React-based product (no frontend ownership required)
1–3+ years of full-time experience in a high-growth startup environment
High ownership mindset — able to scope problems and deliver without heavy oversight
