Specialist, Facilities Engineer

Responsibilities
Strong safety and health commitments and leadership
Authoring Preventive Maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance (CM) and proof load work instructions
Use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) system(s) in tracking tasks, work instructions, inventory, PM, CM, and trending data of assigned equipment
Serve as site liaison to program Ground Support Equipment (GSE) design team
Proven ability to oversee maintenance operations and mechanical functions of GSE and lifting devices
Know how to research parts and material using government, military and commercial publications
Coordinate shipment of outgoing material with end users, etc
Less than 10% travel. Occasional overtime and weekends may be required
A working knowledge of the following: Periodic inventory, Hazmat inventory control regulations/warehousing, Equipment calibration program, Bench stock program
Oversight of contractor activity in support of facility & equipment maintenance plans and projects to support various program initiatives
Support real property maintenance, repairs, and other Facilities services at the Engine Assembly Facility utilizing various service providers
Ability to obtain a NASA Personal Reliability Program (PRP) clearance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience

Preferred
Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
Certified Project Manager a plus
Self-starter who is capable of working toward established goals with minimal day to day direction
May perform limited budget and schedule responsibilities for projects
Ability to obtain a forklift license
Physical ability to lift 32 pounds
Knowledge of electrical & mechanical equipment such as high-pressure pneumatic, cryogenic, and hydraulic systems, etc
Demonstrated ability in electrical, mechanical, and/or HVAC maintenance
Detailed knowledge of maintenance of Material Handling (MH) systems and Lifting Devices and Equipment (LDE) maintenance, proof testing, and rigging
Performing work to planning and schedules for preventive maintenance and repair assignments detailed work instructions
Working knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
Initiating and implementing Continuous Improvement efforts and projects in area of responsibility
May assign work to direct less senior employees as appropriate and required to accomplish goals and mission milestones
Obtain Contractor Coordinator qualification to monitor project status and ensure that contractual requirements are met
