Commercial Portfolio Manager

The Commercial Portfolio Manager will manage a portfolio of existing commercial banking customer relationships, ensuring effective underwriting of commercial loans and supporting credit administration and servicing needs.

Responsibilities
Work closely with the Team Manager or Department Manager to support the credit administration and servicing needs of that Manager’s customer portfolio
Manage a portfolio of existing loans including annual reviews, modifications, renewals/extensions etc
Overall responsibility for ensuring the effective and efficient underwriting of commercial loans in alignment with the Bank’s risk tolerance
Join prospect/customer calls with the lending team
Interview customers and their consultants to gather information concerning their business, financial condition, and operating performance to evaluate financing needs
Acts as a liaison to internal business partners and third-party professionals
Assist corporate banking trainees and credit analysts in the development, analysis and preparation of financial background for Business Banking Clients
Complexity of the customer relationships managed, any credit authority extended, and the designation of the Portfolio Manager is determined by the candidate’s work experience and training
Qualification
Required
Must have a bachelor's degree, preferably in a business-related field, or equivalent experience in retail and commercial banking divisions
Must have at least 4 years of prior credit underwriting and/or portfolio management related experience
Must have strong knowledge of commercial and consumer loan and deposit products
Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Must have the ability to thoroughly interpret financial data and use sound business judgment
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as excellent listening ability and presentation skills
Must have excellent attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Preferred
Experience using nCino and Moodys is preferred
