Mechanical Engineer/Senior Mechanical Engineer - Actuation

They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of high-performance actuators for robotics systems, utilizing proprietary materials technology and first-principles engineering.

Responsibilities

Design high‑performance actuators, such as harmonic/strain‑wave, planetary, cycloidal, and novel architectures tailored to both rotary and linear applications
Develop and refine concepts: conduct engineering analyses, evaluate competing concepts, build prototypes, and use simulation tools to optimize designs
Work with customers to integrate your designs: coordinate with client engineering teams to ensure your drive systems meet their mechanical, electrical, and control‑interface requirements. Provide documentation, participate in design reviews, and support design verification testing during customer integration
Documentation and testing: produce detailed CAD models and drawings, bills of materials, and assembly instructions. Set up and conduct verification tests, interpret results, and iterate designs for manufacturability and performance

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics or a related field
At least 3 years of experience designing electromechanical actuators, gear systems or precision drive mechanisms
Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, kinematics, statics/dynamics and materials science
Proficiency with modern CAD and commonly used simulation tools
Hands‑on experience with prototyping, machining and testing of actuators

Preferred

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline focused on machine design or dynamics
5 years of experience designing electromechanical actuators, gear systems or precision drive mechanisms
A track record of delivering mechanical designs to production
