CCL Global is seeking an Automation Technician to support upstream onshore oil & gas operations on a 12-hour night rotation. This hands-on role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing automation and electrical equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations at well sites and compressor stations.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair automation and electrical equipment
Support PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, and control networks
Install, program, calibrate, and maintain field instrumentation (pressure, flow, level, etc.)
Commission systems using engineering design documents
Validate control loops, test alarms, and confirm control logic functionality
Follow PLC standards, MOC procedures, and Process Control requirements
Use CMMS tools (SAP) to support maintenance activities

Required

3+ years as an Automation Technician / Automation Specialist
3+ years of oilfield experience (upstream preferred)
Strong experience with RTUs, PLCs, instrumentation, and communications networks
Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs, ladder logic, function block, and structured text
Experience supporting HMIs
Familiarity with industry standards (API, NEC, NFPA, ISA)
Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Automation or related field
Experience with Rosemount instrumentation
Ability to read P&IDs, wiring diagrams, Cause & Effects, and control narratives
Experience troubleshooting Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, fiber, and RF networks
