Responsibilities
Lead stakeholder workshops and interviews to capture current-state business processes, data usage patterns, reporting dependencies, and workflows
Analyze legacy systems, manual processes, and reports to identify embedded business rules and data dependencies
Validate findings with business users to ensure accuracy, completeness, and operational alignment
Translate business needs into clear, traceable, testable requirements that support downstream technical design
Serve as the primary liaison between business users, technical teams, compliance partners, and leadership
Plan, schedule, and facilitate discovery workshops with appropriate SMEs and decision-makers
Manage stakeholder expectations by clearly communicating scope, assumptions, risks, and dependencies
Provide regular status updates and proactively escalate risks or gaps
Document detailed business logic, including validation rules, transformation logic, calculations, and exception handling
Identify and externalize business rules embedded in applications, reports, and spreadsheets
Define data ownership, stewardship responsibilities, and governance practices
Ensure documentation is structured and usable for both technical and non-technical audiences
Partner with compliance, legal, and information security teams to identify and classify sensitive data, including PII
Document applicable state and federal regulatory requirements and internal data protection standards
Define data handling, retention, access, and protection requirements for current and future environments
Support risk assessments by identifying compliance gaps and recommending mitigation strategies
Business Requirements Documentation capturing current-state processes, data usage, business rules, and reporting dependencies
Stakeholder workshop summaries including decisions, assumptions, risks, and action items
Data governance and compliance documentation outlining data ownership, PII inventory, retention policies, and security classifications
Business validation artifacts including test scenarios, acceptance criteria, reconciliation logic, and expected outcomes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field
7+ years of Business Analyst experience supporting data-centric or system modernization initiatives
Strong background in requirements elicitation, stakeholder facilitation, and documentation
Solid understanding of data governance, data quality, and compliance concepts
Experience working in regulated environments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Experience with data migration, legacy modernization, or enterprise reporting
Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, NIST, or SOC
Experience working closely with architects, data engineers, and QA teams
Knowledge of Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies
