Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center Program Manager

Responsibilities
Supports program development, internal and external outreach activities and performance improvement initiatives
Forms teams and ensures all appropriate clinical areas are represented
Meets with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to reduce risk and ensure high reliability care in the stroke population
Coordinates team meeting, prepares and maintains documentation, facilitates teams by using appropriate performance improvement methodology
Leads annual certification preparation, presentation, and sets expectations for departmental responsibilities
Participates in Enterprise meetings to facilitate process improvement across the health system and engage in projects that support the mission and vision of the Neurological Institute
Utilizes current knowledge of Joint Commission disease specific certification and other regulatory agency standards to promote safety and best outcomes for patients
Educates and/or organizes educational activities for continuum of care providers (staff, nursing, APP's, residents etc.) in conjunction with PSC nursing staff, to keep current with AHA/ASA recommendations and updates standards of care
Synthesizes data from multiple sources to evaluate outcomes to redesign processes
Develops policies and procedures across service lines to reflect changing standards for stroke care that is evidenced-based care
In conjunction with program medical director, ensures the Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center is current with AHA/ASA recommendations and updated standards of care
Collaborates with referring facilities and transport teams to ensure patient safety during transition of care
Tracks and trends patient satisfaction experience at program level and various additional data points such as length of stay, volumes, readmissions, 90 day functional outcomes and others metrics as required by the national registry ry
Promotes the professional development of caregivers across the continuum by organizing learning opportunities both locally and regionally. This includes mentoring and empowering bedside RN's to advance learning through certification and involvement in professional organizations
Acts as point person throughout the 2 day Joint Commission recertification visit

Qualification
Required
Registered Nurse with strong clinical background in acute care and/or ambulatory care
Bachelors of Nursing Science required
Current state licensure as an RN
Certification in NIHSS within 90 days of hire
Stroke Certified RN or other certification pertinent to role within 2 years of hire
Minimum three years' experience with appropriate patient population
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
Demonstrates competency in the use of computer applications (Microsoft Office), statistical programs and clinical and administrative databases
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in working with stroke patients and several departments, services, and leaders
Effective at cultivating relationships necessary to address and resolve challenges
Preferred
Master's Degree preferred
Previous Stroke Center or program management preferred
Recommend successful completion of continuous improvement training (example: 6Sigma or SolVE) within 2 years of hire
