Responsibilities

Lead the design, review, filing and administration of health insurance plans
Develop short and long-range strategy goals and objectives with key stakeholders to include gaining approval of and executing an annual product strategy
Collaborate with leadership and appropriate departments to develop plans for new lines of business or improve existing business
Perform periodic competitor analysis to identify relative strengths and weaknesses and market position
Consistently seek ways to improve operational efficiencies through better use of resources
Lead the development of new products and product enhancements, including supplemental benefits and vendor relationships
Oversee project management to develop schedules and milestones around annual product development processes and new launches
Ensure product development and life cycle management is operated in compliance with all state and federal deadlines
Collaborate with System Marketing leadership to ensure consistent communication and promotion of products
Define and communicate a clear, compelling vision for the team that effectively ties into the mission and vision of Health First, and inspirationally leads the team to achieve that vision
Provide leadership, motivation, coaching, feedback and support to strengthen growth, development and wellness at work to build and foster effective, high performing teams
Lead change through effective communication, explaining the connection and value to the organization, creating stronger buy-in and urgency, while understanding impact to the team to obtain commitment
Demonstrate openness to hearing diverse ideas and thoughts; create a sense of inclusivity; and encourage collaboration across teams to help break down silos to meet the team’s and organization’s goals
Recruit, select, grow, and retain highly engaged, high performing diverse and inclusive associates
Display strong strategic and financial acumen in areas of responsibility in alignment with the organization's strategic objectives

Required

Bachelor's Degree
Seven years of Health Insurance experience
Three years leadership experience
Possess strong computer abilities with emphasis on Microsoft Windows applications
Knowledge of laws, government regulations, and agency rules for managed care controls
Experience with AMISYS Advance or similar claims system
High level of understanding of insurance and associated terminology
Knowledge of document structure and content, including spelling, grammar and rules of composition
