Principal Electrical Engineer
IDOM USA is an employee-owned international engineering, architectural and consulting firm. They are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead a group of engineers in developing concept and detailed engineering on substation projects within the utility sector.
Responsibilities
Prepare/Review new and modify existing relay drawings including relay panel arrangements, single lines, three lines, AC schematics, equipment wiring, and relay panel wiring
Design substations utilizing client standards including bill of materials, yard layouts, plans, sections and details, grounding, ground grid, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways, auxiliary AC and DC power systems, and cable lists
Prepare/Review calculations and equipment specifications
Execute complex assignments requiring the use of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods
Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members. Regularly meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
Minimum 5 years experience in substation projects
PE or chartered engineer license
Experience in substations and distributed generation energy projects in the utility sector
Proficiency with National Electrical Safety Code & IEEE / ANSI Standards
Advanced knowledge of power systems protection, underground systems, and transmission & distribution systems
