Compliance Specialist
Buckland is a customer-focused company specializing in global trade solutions. They are seeking a Customs Compliance Specialist who will assist with compliance projects, provide Free Trade Agreement qualifications, and maintain communication with clients and government representatives.
Responsibilities
Complete FTA determinations and reviews, identify solicitation and classification workload needed for qualification
Assist with Trade Program projects, audits, and verification programs
Review and maintains database integrity by utilizing various client and provide software to organize and manage the workload
Provide brokers and client assistance with FTA document support, create reports, and may assist in drafting compliance processes and related work instructions
Liaison with significant business partners on Customs compliance issues and provide effective and diplomatic internal and external customer service
Good written and verbal communication skills
Apply your skills with Microsoft utilizing programs such as Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook
Demonstrate your meticulous attention to detail by ensuring accuracy and decision making
Driven by results working in a fast-paced environment
Maintain a well-organized calendar to balance meetings, tasks, and future initiatives
Provide exceptional customer support by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly and effectively
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management/Transportation/International Business, or related discipline
Minimum 3 years of qualification experience with expert knowledge of FTA Rules of Origin and RVC calculations
Professional and mature demeanour
Good research and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and organization skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times
Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel if required to other offices locations in CAD/USA/MEX
Preferred
US Customs broker's license and/or CCS designation preferred but not required
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools with advanced knowledge of Excel and Access (preferred)
