IBSS Corporation is seeking a General Engineer to provide engineering support for the design, development, assessment, recapitalization, and long-term sustainment of NOAA CO-OPS oceanographic observing infrastructure. Responsibilities

Develop engineering designs and detailed drawings for coastal and oceanographic measurement stations using AutoCAD, Autodesk tools, and Fusion360
Ensure all designs and drawings meet applicable engineering standards, CO-OPS requirements, and local building codes; manage and store design files using AutoCAD Vault
Perform structural analyses using commercially available engineering software (e.g., Fusion Simulation, NASTRAN, Hilti ANCHOR, or similar tools)
Conduct engineering reconnaissance to assess structural integrity, siting, and installation requirements for water level, current meter, meteorological, and wave stations
Prepare trip reports and reconnaissance reports documenting field findings and engineering recommendations
Participate in engineering design and review meetings, including determination of appropriate platforms for current meter installations in accordance with CO-OPS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Develop technical specifications, engineering documentation, and cost analyses to support station design, installation, and recapitalization efforts
Support the testing and evaluation of observing sensors, including water level, current, meteorological, wave, and other oceanographic instruments
Develop, update, and maintain CO-OPS SOPs, engineering standards, manuals, and technical reports
Apply strong analytical judgment and technical writing skills to support engineering decisions and documentation
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, scientists, and program managers, to support CO-OPS observing programs

Required

Master's degree in Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Marine, or Ocean Engineering OR Bachelor's degree plus at least two (2) years of relevant experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows OS/Suite, Google Workspace, and AutoCAD for designing coastal, ocean, port, and harbor measurement stations
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills
Ability to support engineering efforts for long-life infrastructure in extreme environmental conditions

Preferred

Experience with AutoCAD Vault and Fusion 360
Experience with structural analysis software such as NASTRAN, STAAD-PRO, Fusion Simulation, or similar tools
Familiarity with GIS, general database systems, and query tools
Experience supporting oceanographic, coastal, marine, or offshore engineering projects
