Responsibilities

Monitor database performance, health, and stability
Perform routine maintenance, indexing, and optimization
Manage backups, restorations, and disaster recovery procedures
Troubleshoot database and performance issues; respond to outages
Ensure data integrity and system availability
Document configurations, maintenance routines, and recovery steps
Coordinate with MSDE technical and program teams
Assist with minor database enhancements or schema adjustments

Required

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, MIS, or related field
5+ years of hands-on experience administering production relational databases (MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle)
Strong experience with: Backup & restoration
Strong experience with: Disaster recovery
Strong experience with: Query optimization & performance tuning
Strong experience with: Database monitoring and troubleshooting
Advanced SQL skills (queries, stored procedures, views, functions)
Experience supporting systems in an O&M environment

Preferred

Prior experience supporting government systems or eligibility/certification platforms
