Responsibilities
Collaborate with data engineering, product, compliance, and finance teams to build scalable, real-time risk decisioning systems
Design, test, and deploy underwriting models and credit strategies using statistical and machine learning techniques
Conduct A/B testing on credit policies, models, and product features; analyze results and translate insights into actionable business decisions
Review and validate loan application decisions for alignment with credit policy, regulatory expectations, and fair-lending standards
Monitor portfolio performance, model stability, and risk outcomes; iterate quickly based on findings
Contribute to the development of risk infrastructure, tools, and processes as we scale
Qualification
Required
Willing and able to commute to Woodbridge, NJ 3x per week (Tues-Thurs)
3+ years in credit risk and/or fraud for consumer or small-business lending (FinTech experience strongly preferred)
Strong Python skills for data analysis and modeling; SQL proficiency required
Hands-on experience building or improving credit strategies for unsecured lending products
Experience working with large datasets in a modern data stack (e.g., cloud data warehouses)
Strong understanding of statistical modeling, experimentation, and performance monitoring
Ability to explain complex analyses to non-technical stakeholders
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving processes
Preferred
Experience with real-time underwriting or API-based decisioning, model governance, explainability, or fair-lending requirements; deploying models in production
Prior experience at a fintech startup that scaled successfully
