Responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) architecture and cloud strategy for the University of Central Missouri
Assess the current IT environment, including OCI, Azure, GCP, and on-premise systems, and document the current-state architecture
Design a future-state OCI architecture aligned with best practices and a vendor-agnostic, multi-cloud strategy
Develop OCI environment designs covering networking, compute, storage, identity, security, and cost optimization
Define and document identity and access management strategies, including federation, SSO, and role-based access control
Design disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies that meet or exceed existing operational capabilities
Ensure all architectures and security controls align with current NIST standards and higher-education security best practices
Develop a proof-of-concept (PoC) and pilot roadmap with defined scope, timeline, and risk-mitigation measures
Prepare and maintain a detailed project plan, including milestones, deliverables, and implementation roadmap
Produce architecture documentation, diagrams, and executive-level progress reports, culminating in a final cloud strategy report
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience providing cloud architecture, cloud strategy, or enterprise IT consulting services
Experience delivering cloud computing strategy or architecture services for higher education enterprise environments
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) architectures, including networking, compute, storage, identity, and security
Proven experience working within multi-cloud environments (OCI, Azure, GCP) and advising on vendor-agnostic cloud strategies
Strong experience supporting technology modernization, infrastructure optimization, and cost-management initiatives
Hands-on experience designing disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity solutions in cloud environments
Experience designing identity and access management strategies, including federation, SSO, and role-based access control
Demonstrated experience aligning cloud architecture and security controls with NIST standards or equivalent best practices
Experience developing detailed project plans, timelines, roadmaps, and architecture documentation
Ability to lead technical workshops, architecture reviews, and stakeholder discussions with technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) certifications (e.g., OCI Architect Professional, OCI Architect Associate)
Cloud certifications supporting multi-cloud environments (OCI, Azure, GCP preferred)
