Running Backs Coach & Recruiting Coordinator

Texas A&M University - Texarkana is seeking a Running Backs Coach & Recruiting Coordinator who will lead the football program’s recruiting operations while coaching the running backs unit. This role involves evaluating and recruiting student-athletes, coaching players, and supporting the overall success of the football program through various responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary coordinator for all football recruiting operations and workflows
Develop, implement, and manage an annual recruiting plan aligned with roster needs and program goals
Coordinate campus visits (official and unofficial), including itineraries, compliance documentation, and communication with campus partners
Maintain recruiting boards, databases, and evaluation materials
Assign recruiting territories and monitor recruiting activity of assistant football coaches
Evaluate prospective student-athletes through film review, in-person evaluations, and communication with high school and junior college coaches
Serve as the primary liaison with the compliance office to ensure all recruiting activities adhere to NCAA Division II, conference, and institutional rules
Track recruiting metrics, commitments, and signing class progress; and provide regular reports to the Head Coach
Assist with transfer portal evaluation and communication
Coach and develop the running backs unit, emphasizing fundamentals, technique, discipline, and player safety
Design and implement position-specific practice drills and skill development plans
Assist in game planning, film breakdown, and opponent analysis related to offensive strategy
Coach running backs during practices, meetings, and competitions
Contribute to offensive schemes, play installation, and in-game adjustments as assigned by the Head Coach or Offensive Coordinator
Support the holistic development of student-athletes, including leadership, academic accountability, and personal growth
Assist with practice planning, scheduling, and daily football operations
Participate in staff meetings, clinics, and professional development opportunities
Support academic monitoring and retention efforts for student-athletes
Assist with summer camps, clinics, fundraising, and community engagement activities

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Collegiate or high-level coaching experience in football, preferably coaching running backs
Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA Division II recruiting rules and regulations
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to travel extensively and work beyond normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Working in all weather conditions, exposure to high noise levels, standing throughout the day, the ability to use a loud voice at practices and events and physical involvement in all practices and workouts with players
This position may be required to handle Protected Health Information (PHI) as defined by Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, in accordance with System policy and is further required to complete FERPA and HIPAA training as a condition of employment, within a reasonable timeframe after employment and on an as-needed basis thereafter

Preferred

Master's degree
Prior experience serving as a recruiting coordinator or in a lead recruiting role
Established recruiting relationships with high school and junior college coaches
Experience with recruiting software and video analysis platforms
Experience within NCAA Division II or similar competitive level
CPR Certification
