The Applications Engineer is responsible for providing customer application assistance, technical support, and proposal drawings, while also supporting product development and system design efforts.

Responsibilities
Provides design of Indexer, conveyor solutions for automation systems
Creates detailed manufacturing drawings, 3D assembly models and CAD files
Generates bill of materials (BOM), product documentation and Oracle part numbers
Supports customer service with technical support, applications review, and warranty issues
Completes competitive product testing/analysis as required
Provides customer application assistance and technical support for customer questions (by phone & email)
Provides proposal drawings, quotations and special designs or modifications to existing products
Sizing of AC, DC & Servo motor including gear reducer
Must know mechanical engineering elements design, and validation through calculations
Supports the system design group and product development for new products, product improvements and changes to existing products
Promotes safety awareness with other members of the organization.Promotes accident prevention and employee involvement in regard to a safe work environment
Supports the continuous improvement roadmap for the organization. Leverages continuous improvement tools to drive continued improvements
May evaluate products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability
Utilize current processes for proper storage of engineering documents in global PDM
Qualification
Required
3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area with mechanical/machine design, discrete automation products, and assembly experience
Communication skills to provide instructions to all parties included in the project and answer all questions a customer may have on how the product work
Problem-solving skills to ensure any issues that arise during the design, assembly and End of line testing processes are fixed
Attentiveness to detail to ensure all parts of an application come together and work as intended
Experience in SolidWorks 3d modeling and detailing is required, other equivalent 3d modeling experience can be considered
Interpersonal skills to be able to work with others who may be included on the project to ensure it works properly
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Self-directed and able to re-calibrate priorities as needed
High energy, strong interpersonal skills, prefers to work in team environment
Analytical thinker, ability to make decisions and problem solve in a timely manner
Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing
Ability to work in teams, provide project status, and maintain a high level of communication
Ability to lead and direct the work of others
Associate's degree required in a related field
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred
