Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple complex sales and use tax engagements
Develop and implement innovative tax planning strategies for clients
Monitor and communicate changes in state tax laws and regulations
Provide clear and comprehensive written communications on key tax issues to the firm and clients
Mentor and develop Associates and Senior Associates enhancing their technical and client service skills
Cultivate strong client relationships and deliver exceptional client service
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, MIS, or a related field
Minimum of 6 years of state and local tax experience with a focus on indirect (sales & use) tax compliance and consulting
Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop staff
Strong relationship management and practice development skills
Demonstrated ability to attract new clients and expand services to existing clients
Possesses a fundamental understanding of state tax laws and regulations
Keep high standards of accuracy and organization
Enjoy meeting deadlines and feeling a sense of accomplishment
Negotiate with confidence
Think critically and recognize when something is off
Communicate difficult and complicated topics with ease and simplicity
Apply your technical expertise to varied client issues/needs and provide creative, insightful analysis
Work well independently and as part of a team
Build strong internal and external working relationships
Manage your time well and prioritize tasks effectively
Preferred
CPA, CMI, or JD is a plus
