Inventory Control Specialist - Corporate
HomeBuys, Inc. is seeking a corporate Inventory Control Specialist to join their Planning & Allocation team in Columbus, Ohio. This role is responsible for ensuring enterprise-level inventory accuracy, reporting, and analysis across distribution centers and retail locations, while collaborating cross-functionally to support leadership with insights and reporting.

Responsibilities
Monitor, analyze, and reconcile inventory accuracy across enterprise systems for DC and retail locations
Research and resolve inventory discrepancies using system reports, audit findings, and transactional analysis
Partner with Planning, Allocation, Buying, Distribution, Loss Prevention, and Finance teams to identify root causes of inventory variance
Support physical inventory processes through pre- and post-inventory analysis, reconciliation, and reporting
Oversee and validate inventory adjustments, transfers, and corrections within inventory management systems
Analyze inventory trends, shrink drivers, and adjustment activity; present findings and recommendations to leadership
Produce recurring and ad-hoc inventory reports for executive and cross-functional stakeholders
Ensure inventory processes align with corporate controls, policies, and audit requirements
Act as a subject-matter resource for inventory accuracy and system integrity across the organization
Qualification
Required
2–4+ years of experience in a corporate retail, planning, inventory analytics, or supply chain role
Experience working with enterprise inventory or ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred; SAP, Oracle, or similar acceptable)
Strong understanding of inventory flows between vendors, DCs, and retail locations from a systems and reporting perspective
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large data sets
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas; Power Query a plus)
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a corporate environment
Preferred
Experience supporting Planning, Allocation, or Merchandise teams
Background in retail inventory analysis, shrink reporting, or inventory controls
Exposure to audit support, loss prevention analytics, or SOX-related inventory controls
