American Chemical Society is seeking a UX Research Intern to support their User Experience Team. The intern will assist in planning and executing mixed-method studies across digital publishing products, focusing on user-centered design and accessibility.

Responsibilities

Assist in designing and running user research activities such as interviews, surveys, usability tests, and concept evaluations
Support data collection, analysis and synthesis via qualitative and quantitative methods
Summarizing insights and present findings in a way that supports design decisions and products
Work closely with UX designers, Researcher and other stakeholders to keep research aligned with project goals

Required

Currently pursuing a major in Psychology, Human-computer interaction, Statistics or applied statistics, Design, Anthropology or similar

Preferred

Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills
Strong organizational skills
Interest in user experience and chemistry-focused publishing
Familiarity with qualitative methods like user interviews, usability testing and quantitative methods like Surveys, Card Sorting, Tree Testing etc
Strong organizational habits for handling multiple research tasks and documentation
Clear communication skills, comfortable sharing and presenting insights with and alongside researchers and non-researchers
Curiosity, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback
Familiarity with the Publication workspace is a plus
