Responsibilities

Conduct routine and complex tests on clinical specimens in all areas of the Lab

Serve as a lead to other Generalist Laboratory Technologists

Troubleshoot instruments and methods

Perform all quality control procedures

Assist in the evaluation of new equipment, reagents and methodologies

Calibrate and maintain lab instrumentation

Research and establish new procedures to improve laboratory operations

Qualification

ASCP certificationNew York State licensureClinical laboratory experienceChemistry backgroundTroubleshooting skillsQuality control proceduresResearch skillsLeadership skills

Required

Minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience or 2 years of clinical laboratory experience with Master's degree or 1 years of experience with a MD, DO or doctoral degree in a chemical, physical or biological science

Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or equivalent curriculum unless credentials are grandfathered in as life experience

New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department

Preferred

ASCP certification

Chemistry background strongly preferred
