Responsibilities

Designs mechanical equipment, systems, and processes

Performs calculations and analyses to ensure suitability of design

Solves problems related to the assembly, repair, and test of environmental control systems. Under general supervision, performs assignments which involve responsibility for a secondary project or a part of a major project

May give direction to Drafters/Designers

Works with colleagues in the department and in other departments

Writes reports as required

Presents designs to peers, other engineers, and customers

Required

BSME from accredited college

Experience in designing mechanical components/subsystems

Applying ASME Y14.5M

Knowledge of drawing and drafting standards

Knowledge of applied thermodynamics and mechanical design

Works under constant supervision

Performs assignments of mild complexity and assists other Engineers

Preferred

Experience in the development of military or aerospace equipment

Understanding of military specifications, environmental specifications, and test specifications

Experience with electrical and electrical circuits and control theory
