Responsibilities

Review designs, project plans, and oversee capital projects, ensuring they meet the required standards

Review engineering and architectural designs, collaborating with both internal and external design teams to ensure Parks project design goals are met

Manage workflows to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget

Manage other design and engineering professionals to provide guidance and oversight of all Planning and Design Branch projects for the division

Communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders and planning and design staff to deliver high-quality project solutions and staff performance planning

Required

Proficiency in various architectural and engineering disciplines, including knowledge of building codes, design standards, and construction methodologies

Strong Project Management skills, with the ability to lead and manage teams to meet project objectives effectively

Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Professional licensure and relevant professional experience

A strong commitment to sustainability and innovative design solutions

Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and staff

Must have two years of experience above that required for licensure

Must be licensed as a professional architect by the Kentucky Board of Architects OR, must be licensed as a professional engineer by the Kentucky Board of Engineers & Land Surveyors OR, must be registered as a professional landscape architect by the Kentucky Board of Landscape Architects OR, must be certified as a Certified Interior Designer by the Kentucky Board of Architects
