Assistant Vice President for Regional Services
Southern Utah University (SUU) is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Regional Services to lead initiatives in collaboration with community and industry leaders, as well as state and federal agencies. The role involves promoting SUU's regional mission, building strategic partnerships, and overseeing programs focused on rural and economic development.

Responsibilities
Advance SUU's Regional Mission: Promote and expand the mission of SUU Regional Services through collaboration with community leaders, businesses, and state and federal partners supporting rural and regional development
Build Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate high-impact relationships with industry leaders to enhance innovation, workforce training, and business expansion opportunities
Provide Administrative Oversight: Oversee select university centers and programs aligned with rural and economic development, rural health, outdoor engagement, and statewide or community-based initiatives, along with other assigned programs
Secure Funding and Resources: Identify, obtain, and manage appropriations, grants, and external funding to sustain and strengthen Regional Services programs
Lead Major Events and Conferences: Plan and execute key statewide events, including the One Utah Summit, managing logistics, speakers, sponsorships, and program delivery
Represent SUU in State and Federal Initiatives: Collaborate with agencies such as the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity, Utah Department of Workforce Services, Department of Natural Resources, and U.S. Departments of Interior, Agriculture, and Labor to align efforts and share expertise
Develop and Deliver Policy Presentations: Prepare and present rural policy and development briefings for the Utah Legislature, the Governor, chambers of commerce, and other stakeholder organizations
Manage Budgets and Operations: Oversee budgets, contracts, accounts, marketing, and communications for Regional Services

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
Demonstrated success in securing and managing appropriations and grants
Proven ability to plan, organize, and implement major conferences and public events
Experience developing and leading regional or statewide programs
Exceptional skills in collaboration, innovation, and professional communication
Knowledge of rural economic development practices, state and federal agency programs, business development, and workforce training initiatives
Ability to engage and partner effectively with diverse communities and stakeholders
Preferred
Master's degree
At least 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, government, or community/economic development
